A ‘one man band’ Limited company who wanted to take bookkeeping off his to do list!

The Client:

This client contacted us as he was spending increasing amounts of time working on his bookkeeping. His industry means a lot of travel/time away from home, do the last thing he (or his wife!) wanted to do when he was home was stress over his bookkeeping. With a large amount of purchase transactions, he also needed an efficient way to collate receipts ready for us to deal with

The Action:

The first step we took was to set this client up on Dext to enable them to photograph receipts at point of purchase. We are then able to publish these into QuickBooks on a weekly basis, and also post bank transactions from their bank feed.

The Outcome:

The regular updating of QuickBooks means this client is able to see which customers have invoices unpaid and have accurate income and expense information available to him.

Although we do have to send query lists to this client for missing invoices/receipts (not unusual!) this is a simple list for him to work from (so is not too time consuming) meaning his time at home doesn’t get taken over by bookkeeping and can be enjoyed as a well deserved break!
